Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lanya, a matchmaking service operated by Lanya, Inc. ("Lanya", "we", "us"). By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Lanya.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be legally able to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• You must not be required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction.
• You must not have been previously removed from Lanya for violating these Terms.

You're responsible for the accuracy of your questionnaire answers and profile, and for keeping your login credentials secure. One person, one account. You may not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity, age, or intent.

Lanya uses automated systems to interpret your tone, values, and communication style and to suggest compatible matches. Matching is probabilistic — we do not guarantee any particular match, response, date, or relationship outcome. You always choose whether to engage with a suggested match.

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other members, on or off the app.
• Send sexually explicit content to anyone who has not consented.
• Solicit money, gifts, sponsorships, or commercial services from other members.
• Use Lanya for prostitution, human trafficking, or any unlawful activity.
• Post content that infringes others' rights or violates the law.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to bypass our matching system or security measures.
• Use bots, scripts, or AI agents to interact with members on your behalf.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

Lanya helps you plan a date, but any meeting is between you and the other person. Meet in public places, tell a friend, and trust your instincts. Lanya does not conduct background checks on members and is not responsible for the conduct of any member online or offline. If you ever feel unsafe, contact local emergency services and report the incident to lanya.app@gmail.com.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (questionnaire answers, photos, prompts, messages). You grant Lanya a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service, power matching, and enforce our policies. You're responsible for what you share.

Joining the waitlist is not a guarantee of access. We onboard members in waves and may limit or delay access to maintain matching quality. Lanya is currently free to use; we may introduce paid features in the future and will give clear notice before any charges apply.

You may delete your account at any time from in-app settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for other members, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute resolution) will continue to apply.

Lanya is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any match will lead to a particular result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lanya and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the conduct of other members. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) US $100 or (b) the amount you paid Lanya in the 12 months before the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and Lanya agree to first try to resolve any dispute informally by contacting lanya.app@gmail.com. If we can't, disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Dallas County, Texas — not in court and not as part of a class action — except for small-claims matters and intellectual-property claims.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use of Lanya after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
